BANK PROFILE KGB :
Krishna Grameena Bank was established on 01.12.1978 under the RRBs Act 1976. The Bank has completed 32 years of its meaningful services to the people of Gulbarga, Yadgir and Bidar districts. Since inception, the Bank is striving hard to achieve its set objectives in its area of operation. The Bank has now extended its coverage to all the urban and semi-urban centers in the three districts.

The head office building has been well equipped with centralized air conditioning, computerized, functioning, solar lighting, modern gudgets and a sprawling well maintained garden. The Head office premise is regarded as one of the BEST CORPORATE OFFICE not only in Gulbarga city but also in the entire Hyderabad Karnataka Area. The Bank enjoys the popularity as the PEOPLE’S BANK in the area.

During the year 2009-10 the Bank Crossed a major milestone by surpassing Rs.2,242 crores of business by registering a growth of 17.01% over the previous year. Further the bank has achieved growth by Rs.326 crores to total Business during the year 2009-10. The growth during last three years from Rs.1,256 crores as on March-2007 to Rs.2,242 crores as on March-2010. Systematic proactive sustained efforts are continued to accomplish all round excellence.

The Krishna Bank is based on the traditional Indian value of service to the community Bank is reputed as one of the well run banks in the community of public sector banks in the country.

The bank has been richly endowed with a relatively young, dynamic and efficient man power, which is the key factor of the bank success. Excellence in performance and uniqueness in customer service from the central core of the banks organizational cultured. The growing confidence of its clientele is well reflected in the banks performance in all critical areas of its operation all through the years.

BRANCH NETWORK:-
Is at the end of the financial year, the bank is having a well spread out network of 119 Branches, 60 in Gulbarga district,23 in Yadgir and 33 in Bidar districts.

uring the financial year 2009-10,the bank has opened 7 new branches, 3 in Gulbarga, 2 in Yadgir and 2 in Bidar districts.There are 4 Area Offices, of which two in Gulbarga district situated at Gulbarga and Sedam, one in Yadgir situated at Shahapur, and one in Bidar situated at Bidar only.

SHARE CAPITAL:-
The bank has an authorized share capital of Rs.50,000 and an issued and paid-up capital of Rs. 10,000 contributed by the three share holders, viz
Govt. of India: 50%
Sponsor bank State Bank Of India: 35%
Govt. Of Karnataka: 15%

SHARE CAPITAL DEPOSIT :-
During the year 1997-98 the bank was taken up for restructuring and a sum of total of Rs.2,51,800 thousands was sanctioned to cleanse the balance sheet. Accordingly, an aggregate sum of Rs.1,87,577 thousands has been received from all the three share holders proportionately in two tranches the balance amt in spite of our best efforts was not released till date as on 31.03.2010, the position of share capital deposit was as under.

BORROWINGS:
Borrowings from NABARD and sponsor Bank are the major sources of found for our Bank besides deposits. The details of limits sanctioned and refinance outstanding as on 31.3.2010.

LOANS AND ADVANCES OUTSTANDING :
The Bank has recorded a growth of Rs.1889500 thousands during 2009-10 as against Rs.1451407 thousands achieved during the previous year 2008-09. During the year the bank has disbursed Rs.5588750 thousands as against ACP target of Rs. 6605180 thousands.

KRISHNA KRISHI CARD (KKC) SCHEME :
Kisan credit cards under KGB brand name Krishna Krishi Card, the Bank has disbursed an amount of Rs.3307285 thousands to farmers. During the year the bank has issued New KKC Cards to 24505 farmers with this the total number of KKCs issued by the bank has shot up to 191888.

All eligible borrowers have been issued with the Credit Cards and personal accident insurance cover has been provided to all eligible card holders. (i.e. below the stipulated age of 70 years) Under personal Accident Insurance Scheme (PAIS). The share of premia borne by the Bank is Rs.1734 thousands as against Rs.867 thousands Contributed by borrowers.

SWAROJAGAR CREDIT CARDS (SSC) :
The Bank has sanctioned 148 SSC during the year 2009-2010, taking the cumulative number of cards issued to 10114 as against 9966 as on 31/03.2009. Amount outstanding increased to Rs.1904 lakh as on 31/03/2010 from Rs.1867.12 lakhs as on March 2009.

RASHTRIYA KRISHI BIMA YOJANA (RKBY) :
The Bank is actively implementing the crop Insurance (RKBY) Scheme in letter and spirit. The details of premium paid and insurance claim settled.

The financial cost has increased by 1.07% on account of aggressive mobilization of term Deposits the year and reduction of Demand Deposits share in total Deposits as same of the Government Departments preferred to Bank with Banks having core Banking facility for keeping their Deposits. However it is gratifying to note that management cost has come down substantially from 1.89% as on 31/03/2009 to 1.45% as on 31/03/2010. Variations in all other ratio are marginal.

KRISHNA INSTITUTE OF TRAINING FOR SELP EMPLOYMENT AND RURAL DEVELOPMENT (KITSERD):
Our Bank in close co-ordination with STATE BANK OF INDIA have set up jointly a Training Institute at Gulbarga for Training unemployment youth to take up self-employment ventures and promote entrepreneurship. The Institute was established on 01/11/1997 for imparting Training to un-employed youths of Gulbarga and Bidar districts in various trade and vocations. The Institute provides free boarding and lodging facility to the selected trainees. The Institute has so far trained 3490 youths in 223 batches of whom 2857 have commenced their own enterprises with the help of financial assistance to the tune of Rs.595 crores from our Bank, State Bank of India and other banks in the district.

TRANSFER PRICE MECHANISM:
The Bank has adopted a fair Transfer price Mechanism on funds lent to and borrowed from internally as under.

Interest rate on funds lent to Head office on total monthly average deposits at 9.50% P.a.
Interest rate on funds borrowed from Head office on total monthly average advances at 8.00% P.a.

FARMERS CLUBS:
The Bank is actively propagating the farmers’ club programme with an objective of development through credit. With a view to involves local people in development and to create a new environment in rural areas, the Bank has promoted 89 farmers clubs during the year taking the total farmers clubs are conducting various developmental activities in rural area like training programmes on cultivation of various crops, pest control measures, soil conservation water management, lift irrigation schemes, modern methods of cultivation, vermiculture, horticulture, dairy farming, sericulture animal health camps, tree planting, community development programmes, literacy campaign etc. The volunteers were deputed to attend krishi Mela conducted at Dharwad, and Gulbarga to expose them to latest developments in Agriculture.

Charabasaveshwar Ratio Koota of our Andola branch bagged district level best formers club awarded by NABARD. Farmers club volunteers deputed to one day training programme on “Community future market” organized by NABARD Gulbarga.

BANK ACHIEVEMENTS:-
Second RRB to achieve 100% CBS (1st RRB among SBI sponsored RRBs and also first RRB in the state).
17th successive repayment camp of Dandothi branch conducted by formers (borrowers) themselves was held on 10.03.2010. Loan amount repaid Rs.263 lochs on the camp day and till the month end Rs 400 lochs.
Bagged prize from NABARD for highest no. of SHG linkage.
1357 fresh SHGs credit linked and 1327 SHGs renewed during the year.
Opened 24505 new KCC accounts against the targets of 16160.
Introduced new advances products like joint liability groups finance and agri gold loans.
Marketed a business of Rs 10700 lochs under advance against warehouse receipts.
Bank has been awarded for best performer amongst RRBs sponsored by State Bank of India.
