The home insurance policy from ICICI Lombard helps customers protect their biggest investment, viz., and their home from natural and man-made calamities. Our comprehensive plans protect much more than just the structure. They also cover the household contents large and small under various schemes.

 

COVERAGE

·                     The policy covers the losses to the structured and content of your home due to any natural and man made calamities as explained previously under fire insurance.

·                     You can choose to buy insurance for only the building (structure) of your house. You can also opt to insure the contents of the house.

·                     The contents of your house are also covered against losses due to burglary or and attempted burglary.

 

ADVANTAGES

·                     The policy gives you an option of covering your house and assets for multiple years at one go.

·                     Discount of up to 50% available on long-term covers.

 

PREMIUM

·                     The structure of your home is covered on reinstalment value basis i.e., the cost of rebuilding your home with a similar new construction.

·                     The contents are covered on 'Market Value' basis ie, cost of buying a similar item of the same age. For jewelers and furniture, value is appropriately arrived at in consultation with a valuator.

·                     The premium charged is Rs125/- for per lac sum insured for fire and earthquake cover. It is Rs300/- for per lac sum insured for burglary.

 

CLAIM PROCESS

·                     Inform the call center with the policy details.

·                     ICICI Lombard authenticates the claim request.

·                     Surveyor onsite within 48 hours.

·                     Site report within 24 hours, interim report within 72 hours on returning from site.

·                     On account payment if needed.

·                     Insured submits documents (as mentioned in policy wordings)

·                     Surveyor submits report to company.

·                     Company process documents (within 14 days)

·                     On approval, payment sent to insured.
