About Vijay Karnataka News Paper

Overview
Press is the fourth estate the other three being the legislative, executive and the judiciary. It owes its emergence following long struggle between the disputes and people for establishment of democracy and representative institutions, The press is supposed to play crucial role of a watchdog to see that, the foreside in situation functions fairly with in the constitution of framework and serve the people of whose they were created. The moment press ceases to perform this function, it shows its credibility

India, a land of kings and emperors in the past were ruled by the (Kings) in the absence of widespread education & means of communication, transport. The message of the rulers had to reach every nook and corner in their vast territory, but there was no press or newspaper then. Ashoka, the great Indian emperor had devised his own means of communication. He used to publish the imperial edicts on rocks and stone pillars. The news of the day was published in small pictures drawn on the walls of temples with ink or color. Which could be removed easily, Even the moral code was proclaimed through art of the monarch to his loving people.

The establishment of The Moghul Empire in India ushered in awareness in the field of journalism. The Moghu rule organized Communication in written newspapers of kind in circulation.  Aurangzeh, one of the last great Moghul emperors had to rule over and administers a vast territory. His army was supplied with news by their authorities.  The Moghul emperors had an efficient system of information officers.  They had maintained a bureau of intelligence in every provincial capital. News writers were appointed there to inform the News to the provincial people.

ORIGIN OF NE WSPA PER
The history of newspapers is an often-dramatic chapter of the human experience going back some five centuries. in Renaissance Europe handwritten newsletters circulated privately among merchants, passing along information about everything from wars and economic conditions to social customs and “human interest” features. The first printed forerunners of the newspaper appeared in Germany in the late 1400’s in the form of news pamphlets or broadsides, often highly sensationalized in content. Some of the most famous of these report the atrocities against Germans in Transylvania perpetrated by a sadistic veovod (in German language) named Vlad Tsepes Drakul (in German language), who became the Count Dracula of later folklore.

In the English-speaking world, the earliest predecessors of the newspaper were carantos (in German language), small news pamphlets produced only when some even worthy of’ notice occurred. The first successfully punished title was the weekly news of 1622.  It was followed in the 1640’s and 1650’s by a excess of different titles in the similar news book news book format.  The first newspaper in English was the London Gazette of 1666.  For a generation it was the only officially sanctioned it was the only officially sanctioned newspaper, though many periodical tiles were in print by the century’s end.

Major Lines of Development
The two major developments in the history of world press have the struggle for control between Government and press in every country, from the beginning to the present and the growth of mass circulation resulting from technological advances. At the beginning the idea of the press did not exist. Government everywhere saw the newspaper as an instrument to be used in their own interests, an idea that persists in much of the world today.

Press of India
The credit for bringing out the first full fledged printed newspaper in India goes to James Augustus Hicky. The first issue appeared on January 29, 1 780 in Calcutta, bearing the title “The Bengal Gazette” or “The Calcutta General Advertiser”

But before Hicky started his newspaper an attempt was made by William Bolts, a censured servant of the East India Company, Who had registered earlier to start a newspaper to ive expressions to the difference existing between the opposing groups in the East India Company. But Bolts attempt to start a newspaper was put down. Bengal Gazette was also called the Flicky s Gazette.

When Hicky started his newspaper he announced his motives, “1 have no particular passion for the printing of newspaper, I have no propensity, I was not breed to unoriginal life of hard work, yet 1 take pleasure in enslave my body in order to purchase freedom for my mind and soul”.

Hicky’s first issue cared out news but not fresh and up to date like the newspaper of today. The news bites were called from the old European newspapers. In those days of difficult transportation, foreign newspaper usually took months to reach Indian shore subsequent issue of the Bengal Gazette enliven the readers with comments on people’s domestic affairs, a species of service, which kept society gossiping. Hicky announced the policies of his paper and declared that this was a “weekly political and commercial paper open to all parties, put influence by none”.

This paper was primal one from the point of view of contents, printing and publication.  But it has the significance of a historical newspaper with this first newspaper in India started the era of Indian Journalism, which has developed as the agency for the saving of democracy in the country today.

After the independence many favorable factors resulted in the growth of Indian press. News papers were given importance as the strongest media of communication. But the real importance was given to the press by the government in 1 953 by establishing “The Indian press commission under the president ship of justice “Rajyadhyaksha”. He improved the Conditions of the news paper in all areas and treated press as an independent unit from the government, which is free to express the needs and desires of people.

Now, press in India is of high quality, it is satisfying its lakhs of readers through providing information across the globe about a11 aspects. It is doing a service, which is apart of democracy. The first Indian language news paper was” DIGDARSHAN” in Bengali from Calcutta in the year 1818. “MANGALORE SAMACHAR” was the first Kannada daily newspaper from Mangalore.

News paper provide information about current affairs, sports and Entertainment, political and Economical stability, Technology and market charges, environmental and Geographical variations of a region or a country or of globe.

Vijay Karnataka, whose marketing, circultion and editorial tactics (including to the extent of having the designation Executive Managing Editor) was modeled on The Times Group was a quick, unsurprising and maybe even deserving success.

As a savvy businessman, he merely saw an opening in the kind of Kannada journalism it was getting through Praja Vani, Kannada Prabha and Samyuktha Karnataka, and got in-and got lucky.

Therefore, they say, with the media market red hot just now, especially in crowded Bangalore, with buyers willing to give him more than twice the money he has pumped into the three papers over the last five-plus years, he sees a golden opportunity to take his cash and leave.

We are thus committed to “going local” and further developing strong regional identities so as to provide the best possible value to our new readership and advertiser base.”
