They set price to product as pr customers needs to make them also to purchase their products. They set price less as to low product but it can attract to customers. They set price who one not purchase they make to purchase them by setting as fixing price according their satisfaction & quality of a product.

Promotion Mix :
In these two factors are come one is wholesalers & retailers. But J.K. Metal work manufactured at J.K. metal works at Darga road & supply to their own J.K. Furniture at Jagat. They dealing directly to customers but not to wholesalers retailers & agencies because it is both of manufacturing & dealing company.

Even they are not advertise in any media like news papers, TV, Radio, F.M. etc… They advertise like face to face when customers visited to company. They advertise as saying mouth expression of their products abut variety, price sizes, colours for to make customers to purchase their products.

Their channels of distribution is like they manufactured at J.K. Metal works it is own I after manufacturing not selling & supplying to customers wholesales retailers directly to their own J.K. Furniture at Jagat they dealing to directly to customers here.

Tax Structures :
They tax paid on sales & income of 1 year sales tax is usually paid on average sales or total sales at 12.5% with the Rs. 600000/- year. Income tax is paid on income of their one year profit at 20% with Rs. 20000/- & their total expenditure of 1 year is Rs. 360000/- year.

Government Incentive :
It is an extra money to dives selling or improving business by the Govt. But they are still not getting any incentives, because of they don’t interest in that they improve their business by investing capital by the profit from their own shop.

Training by Govt. or bank etc :
They don’t give training to J.K. Furniture inventor & metal works, because the owners did not give the information about training by Govt. or bank.

1st Generation of entrepreneurs :
1st Generation of entrepreneurs is Jawad Ahmed Khaji who completed the mechanical engineering in Diploma. After his study completed he decide to open manufacturing industry whole he manufacturing the raw-materials then open its own company to sell to customers directly from J.K. Metal works where he manufactures.

Innovation or copying of existing products idea :
They innovating some thing special who need to consume for taxury. They are copying of existing products means they moldity otherwise add something new to the product to attract to customer to make them purchase easily & while modifying the existing product, they creating new furniture’s products for purchase more by customers & to make consumes satisfaction.

For Example :
Nokia mobile is very famous in mobile industry once upon a time 1100 model demand is more but day by day its demand decreased then the owner decided to copying the existing mobile. He farmed same like as 1100 model mobile feature but which involves torch battery FM Radio, Colour model that is 1650 model so it is an example for copying existing products It’s easily attract to customers & more demanded to it than 1100 model.

Participation :
When he started the industry he invested around 6000 Rs & there was expenditure 2500 but profit was 2000. Me increasing production by bring variety of raw materials from various big city like china It’s an out of country & Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad. It’s from our country, they brought for to make more production increasing sales & earning more project me succeeded in earning more project that project is utilized for to invest in to business for improving business in Gulbarga & to purchased more product by customers so, the day by day earning more project.

Because peoples believed in his business about their produces & services when people starting to purchase more products home here, but he don’t advertise in Media, Me advertise like face to face so that reason peoples more purchasing & they are more selling.

So they getting more project the or annual income also increasing one year around their annual income is 700000. They still investing the project for to popular about their product & good reputation about their company.

Cash Flow System :
Cash flow system means how the company expending, for what purpose spending by the income or profit of their transaction per year is a cash flow system.

The proprietor has been earning profit from various products by selling it. They spending money for purchasing raw-material for to make variety of products, to appointment of workers, to rent, to electricity charges, to travel, to tax, wages, salary etc… etc… it’s all expenditure incurring for to get more output, to popular their products & also for consumer satisfaction.

Problems : Every entrepreneur has problems. The entrepreneur of J.K. Furniture before facing or happening any problem, they will take precautions advance about any problems like fault in production, damage while delivering goods, showing the goods to customer when they visit to shop, mistake by worker while production etc…

They have this type of problems.

Motivation Factors :
The entrepreneur’s parents motivate to start business. Because he completed mechanical engineer.
While running business their friends also motivated for to make him to improve their business.
While he was studying in school his dream was to become big business man. It is one of the main motivation factor.

PROBLEMS SOLVING & DECISION MAKING
Problems Solving : Actually they were not facing any big problems. Because if they are doing anything, they were prepared for to show furniture to customers, how to explain about furniture & how to produce the goods, what should be the output & how should be without affecting to it. They will guide to workers while production, for example. Furniture is manufactured it is looking like good but if there is fault of nails, woods, colors etc… then they will tell to workers to make correctly & not happen like this again. They will also tell to re-check & to good results.

Decision Making : They will also decision making, like if something happens at the time of production. They will tell to employees to make good products without effecting it & also tell to them don’t hesitate to producing the goods & think positively while doing job. For example: They have told to labor to make good computer table. So, the worker will have to do given task with responsible. The labor will make table but there is no drawer, CPU & key board parts. The proprietor said to make computer table & it involves everything like it suitable to keep computer parts but output is wrong. Then they decided to do make it T.V. table & they will give suggestion to labor to convert from that table to T.V. table.

LIFE INSURANCE CORPORATION

LIFE INSURANCE CORPORATION
Life Insurance in India since vedic times, arrived here from England in its modern from only in the year 1818, to insure Europeans & support their windows, entered “Bombay Mutual Life Assurance Society” in 1870 the First Indian Insurance Company, with just seven rupees for initial expenses. Later, Lala Harikishan Lal Launched “Bharat Insurance Company” at Lahore in 1896.

In early days of 1956, nationalization of Life Insurance was taking concrete shape. Life Insurance was nationalized in the Public Interest, as a public utility and as a social service in the words of the then Finance Minister, Mr.C.D.Deshmukh.

“Yogakshema” building was inaugurated by Pt.Jawaharlal Nehru in 1963, by opening the gates with a silver key. “Yogakshema” LIC’s Corporate Office is not the only landmark building of LIC. The corporation also happens to be one of the largest properly owner in India, second only to Indian – railways.

LIFE – INSURANCE:
Meaning:
“Life insurance is a contract providing for payment of a sum of money to a person assured, or failing him, to person entitled to receive the same on the happening of certain Event”.

“Insurance refers to a contract taken out with an insure to protect against loss from a perceived risk or to provide for a secure further”.

The person taking out the Insurance is called the “Insured”. Payments for the policy are called ‘Premiums’. The amount of the premiums generally depends on factors such as age, gender, occupation etc.

Objectives of LIC:
Spread Life Insurance widely and in particular to the rural areas and to the socially and economically backward classes with a view to reaching all insurable persons in the country and providing them adequate financial cover against death at a reasonable cost.
Maximize mobilization of people's savings by making insurance-linked savings adequately attractive.
Bear in mind, in the investment of funds, the primary obligation to its policyholders, whose money it holds in trust, without losing sight of the interest of the community as a whole; the funds to be deployed to the best advantage of the investors as well as the community as a whole, keeping in view national priorities and obligations of attractive return.
Conduct business with utmost economy and with the full realization that the moneys belong to the policyholders.
Act as trustees of the insured public in their individual and collective capacities.
Meet the various life insurance needs of the community that would arise in the changing social and economic environment.
Involve all people working in the Corporation to the best of their capability in furthering the interests of the insured public by providing efficient service with courtesy.
Promote amongst all agents and employees of the Corporation a sense of participation, pride and job satisfaction through discharge of their duties with dedication towards achievement of Corporate Objective

Vision :
"A trans-nationally competitive financial conglomerate of significance to societies and Pride of India"

Mission :
"Explore and enhance the quality of life of people through financial security by providing products and services of aspired attributes with competitive returns, and by rendering resources for economic development."

Policies :
Whole Life Plan: Here, the risk is covered for the entire life of the policy holder. There is no survival benefit and the policy Monies and bonus are payable to the nominees after the death of the policy holder. LIC has three plans under this category. The premium is lower compared to the endowment plans. As these policies do not have survival benefits, they do not appeal to young people and persons looking for savings for their old age.
Endowment Plans: This policy is taken for a specified period, at the end of which the sum assured along with the accumulated bonuses is paid to the policy holder. In case death occurs before the maturity, the sum assured along with bonuses till data are paid to the nominee. The endowment plans provide both risk cover and savings. The premium under this plan is high compared to the others.
Term Plans: Term policies cover the risk for a specified term after which the risk cover comes to an end. I the policy holder survives the term, then nothing is payable. But in some term policies, premiums are paid back to the policy holder at the end of the term. The premium under this policy is low and affordable for the common man. One can get high cover for a very low premium. They are ideal to cover high liabilities such as housing loans, personal loans, business loans etc.
Money Back Plans: One of the drawbacks of an insurance is the lack of liquidity. Money back policies remove this drawback by providing partial survival benefits at periodic intervals as long as the policy holder is alive. In case of death of the policy holder before the maturity of the policy, full sum assured is paid along with the accumulated bonuses irrespective of the survival benefits said. The premium rates under this category are very high. However, these policies provide cash at regular intervals.
Pension Plans or Annuities: Retirement planning or planning fo rold age has become vital today. The pension plans offered can be with death benefit or without death benefit. Here, a fixed sum is paid either in lump sum or in installments in exchange for a pension at the end of specified term.

Advantages:
It is superior to an ordinary saving plan: This is so because, unlike other saving plans, it afford full protection against risk of death.
Easy Settlement & Protection against creditors: The life assured can name a person to whom the policy many would be payable in the event of his death. The proceeds of a Life Insurance Policy can be protected against the claim of the creditors of the Life Assured by effecting a valid assignment of the policy.

Administering the legacy for beneficiaries:
The policy holder can arrange that in the event of his death the beneficiary should receive instead of a single sum.
Payment of the net claim amounts by equal installments.
Payment of the claim by lumpsum at the end.

Ready marketability and suitability for quick borrowing:
After an initial period, if the policy holder finds himself unable to continue payment of premiums he can surrender the policy for a cash sum further, a life insurance policy is sometimes acceptable as security for a commercial loan.

Tax relief:
It is one of the best tax saving option today. Tax can be saved twice on LIC policy, once when you pay premiums & once when you receive maturity benefits. “Money saved is money earned”.

Protection:
Life Insurance is a thoughtful business concept designed to protect the economic value of a human life for the benefit of those financially dependent on him or her.

ACC Cements Wadi

WADI CEMENT WORKS, GULBARGA, KARNATAKA:
The wadi cement works at ACC was setup in the year 1968 with an installed capacity of 2.5 million ton per annum of ordinary Portland cement clinker. The current capacity after the commissioning of new plant is 5.20 million ton per annum. The factory is situated at the south-central part of the country in the state of Karnataka. It is well connected by rail and road. The nearest important railway junction, wadi, is one the central railway between Solapur and Gurmitkal. Wadi station is about 1 kilometer from the plant site. The plant machineries were originally supplied by M/s. Taylor and M/s. ABL and later have been renovated and upgrade over the years.

Geographically the site extends from East longitude 76 degree 4.5 inches. The nearest village is Wadi at a distance of about 1.5 km from the site on East-south-East direction. The existing colony of ACC Wadi is at a distance of about 1.2 km East of the site. The nearest railway station is Wadi at adistance of about 1.5 km. Wadi is a main railway junction on the broad guage line, connecting Wadi with Mumbai, Hyderabad, and Bangalore.

Wadi Cement works manufacture ordinary Portland cement type-43,53 grade (latest version of IS: 269,IS: 8112 and IS:12269

respectively) and Portland Pozoolona cement (latest version of IS:1489 part-1) under the brand name ACC SURAKSHA which makes fluorspar of fly ash upto 25percent thereby helping in maintaining pollution free environment.

In this plant, manufacturing of cement is based on “dry process”. The first step is to form, clinker from a fine ground mixture of calcareous and siliceous material with a small amount of fluxing material, which is heated at high temperature. In the second step, the formed clinker is ground with gypsum to form ordinary Portland cement. Various additives like pozzolona; fly ash etc may be added at this stage to produce Portland pozoolona cement.

Various raw materials like limestone, shale, iron ore, gypsum, calcinated clay, and fly ash are being used in this plant. Limestone is received from captive mines, located at Wadi. The limestone is fragmented by blasting with explosive. It is then loaded into35/50 tons dumpers with the help of shovels. The dumpers transport the limestone to the crusher, which is located at about1.5 km distance from the quarry face. In the crusher the limestone is crushed to 20 mm size. Then it is transported to the factory through a series of conveyer belts. Shale, iron and limestone are mixed in optimum required proportion and thoroughly homogenized pneumatically in blending silos after grinding the same in raw mills to the required fineness. This fine powdered material called “raw meal” is stored in storage silos from where it is pumped to preheated system where it gets calcined and then enters into the klin.

This material is burnt at 14500 C to produce an intermediate product known as clinker, in which pulverized coal is used as a fuel. Clinker is then cooled in cooler and sent to clinker storage gantry. From the gantry, it is sent to cement mills, where it is mixed with optimum quantity of gypsum and ground to the specified fineness to produce ordinary Portland cement. For manufacturing Portland Pozzolona Cement (PPC), clinker, pozzolona (CCP & fly ash) and gypsum are ground to specified fineness in optimum proportion to produce PPC. Produced cement is stored in silos, from where it is packed in bags with the help of rotary packers. The plants are fitted with electrostatic precipitators and Baby filters to control dust emission.

WADI THE PLACE:
Wadi is a small town in the Gulbarga district of Karnataka and has only recently become a municipal area. It is suitably situated at a distance of about 40 km from the district headquarters-Gulbarga and at distance of about 200 km from Hyderabad in Andhra Pradesh, Mumbai, Chennai and Bangalore also is only a night’s journey away. The only major centers, which are relatively inaccessible from Wadi, are New Delhi and Kolkata, with journey times in excess of 30 hours.

Wadi is a small place and the places of major interest are the ACC plants and colony themselves and the wadi railway station which is a junction. The rest of wadi is rough terrain. The level of education is fairly good in main wadi but it is poor in the surrounding villages. Health and hygiene and drinking water are major concerns of the people. The region is a limestone rich belt leading to the establishment of other cement units and ancillary industries.

EMPLOYMENT PROFILE:
Wadi works directly or indirectly provides livelihood to 10000 people. It employees about 1600 people as permanent employees and about 500-800 as contract labour. In addition there are people working as Transporter, Drivers, and Cooks etc. Apart from these there are a large number of businesses flourishing on account of ACC-these are as diverse as Tailoring to pan shops to STD booths, etc.
