ORGANIZATION STRUCTURE IN HAL
Organization structure of HAL complex. It can be broadly grouped into three heads.
Corporate level consists of BOD, Chairman and Head office.
Complex level consisting of Managing Director and his staff.
Divisional level consisting of General Manager and their staff.
Structure:
Looking at the organization chart of the company (refer annexure) we can see that the structure is horizontal with all Managing Director of the functional department reporting directly to the Chairman, Managing Director is the incharge of the full complex at a location.
Each division in a complex is headed by General Manager (GM), and whom Assistant General Manager (AGM) and Chief Manager (CM) will report several department in a division has an AGM or a CM with independent charge.

Corporate office:
The corporate office of the HAL is located at
No.15/1 Urban Road,
Bangalore,
all the activities of HAL are controlled from the corporate office.
Design and Development Complex:
All research and development activities will proved design and development complex. It has a well established, sophisticated equipped and update laboratory to carryout the R&D and the development the design. It is located in Bangalore.
Bangalore Complex: This can be segregated in to 6 division.
Aircraft Division.
Aerospace Division.
Engineer Division
Foundry and Forge Division.
Helicopter Division.
Overhaul Division.
Aircraft Division:
Established in 940 for the manufacture of wide of variety of aircraft. Currently the division is manufacturing Jagur international. It has also manufactured various types of aircrafts, like HT-2, Trainers HJT-16 Kiraw, HF-24 Marut, Ajeet HPT-32, Pusphak, Krishak and Basant, Agricultural aircraft.
Aerospace:
This division was established in 1972. The division was dedicated to the nation by the then Prime Minister of India, Sri.Chandrashekhar on 19.04.1991.
The division provides the technical expertise to fabricate intricate structural load, bearing members and separation mechanisms, bringing the company’s technological competence to the fore.
The aerospace division brings under one roof, activities ranging from methodizing, high-tech, tooling, precision machining welding, structural assemblies and quality assurance.
Currently under production are light Alloy sintered and welded strictures for polar satellite launch vehicle (PSLV) Geo-stationary launch vehicle (GSLV), Indian Remote Sensing Satellite (IRS), Indian National Satellite (INSAT) and integration and equipping of L-40 stages of GSLV.
Engine Division:
Along with aircraft manufacture HAL also setup facilities at its engine division for the manufacture of jet engines to power its aircraft.
Foundry and Forge Division:
The foundry and forge division supplies a Large range of sophisticated radiographical quality casting and forging, both ferrous and non ferrous to the different divisions of HAL and to its other customer.
Helicopter Division:
This was setup to manufacture, repair and overhaul helicopter for the defense sector as well as civil sector has Manufactured Chetakha and Chetakh helicopter for the use by IAF and currently the division is engaged in setting up facilities for the series production of the demanded helicopter.
Overhaul Division:
The overhaul division carries out repair and overhaul of a variety of Aircraft ranging from small piston engines to modern jet fighters and bombers so far it has overhanted over 40 varieties of aircraft Kiran ML-1, MK-11, Jagur, Mirage-2000 aircraft and associated with rolasks being currently serviced.
Accessories Complex:
HAL in its wing has accessory complex to support and function as a whole. The accessories complex has 4 division in different part of the country, they are;
Hyderabad Division.
Kanpur Division.
Lacknow Division.
Korwa Division.
MIG Complex:
Established as manufacturing base for MIG series of aircraft complex has manufactured overhauled and large number of varieties of MIG series. Currently the complex manufacturing MIG-21, MIG-27, repairs and overhaul, tanks metallic drop tanks. In the Korapat Division, the MIG coplex, the R11 series engines, Rs – series engines and K29 engines and RD33 engines are manufactured and overhauled. It also its division Nasik.
