under Gulbarga District. After 1st
April-2010 Yadgir is called new district (Shahapur Taluka) in Karnataka State . Shahapur it is one of the fastest growing
city in Yadgir District it is connected with 4 Major or Big cities, (1) Hyderabad , (2) Bangalore ,
(3) Mumbai & (4) Bijapur. Also Bidar
to Bangalore State Highway
also going from Shahapur.
Shahapur
Historical Places :
Syed
Chanda Husain: The famous
dargah of Syed Chanda Hussain Darga was famous dargah in Shahapur Taluka. It is attracts lakhs together devotees in the
urus.
Sofi
Sarmast Dargah: The
famous Sofi Sarmast Dargah is in Shahapur
Taluka Village
called Sagar. The Dargah attracts
thousand of people in the urus of Sofi Sarmast.
Sleeping
Buddha: On the way from
Gulbarga to Bangalore near by Shahapur at the right side the self manifested
hill seems to give an image of the lord Buddha as he were in the sleeping
posture across the hill. Hence, it is
said to be identified as sleeping Buddha on the hills of Shahapur. It even draw the attention of many staunch
devotees of Buddhism across the world.
Bheemarayan
Gudi (B’Gudi): A famous temple of Balabhima Seana in Shahapur Taluka. The temple attracts lakhs together devotees
every year in Sankramana in January.
Geographical
Shahapur taluka is have 5 Hoblies, 36 Gram
Panchayats, 1 Municipal Corporation, 7 Zilla Panchayat and 1 Assembly
Constituency and Parliament considered under Yadgir Dist. Shahapur taluka area
under forest.
Social
Aspects
Through out the taluka it can be find that
majority of S.C and S.T. without mostly this own professional livelihood, which
always made them to leave their barren land in de-separation.
Economics
Crops are not hopeful in profit, because
they are not commercial ones. Here, grown Jawar, Groundnut, Sunflower, Ragi,
Maize, Cotton, etc. and cereals, but all their efforts go upside down due to
farmer negligence, regularly irregular rains and lets matched finance beside
family hell, most of the farmers are much behind modern cultivation for men
there’s assured job, water supply from borewells, cannot make both ends to
meet.
Crops:
Usually farmers of this taluk grow the traditional crops. Many of them have been concentrated into
commercial crops namely Jawar, Ragi, Maize, Bazra, SF, cotton, groundnet,
sugarcane, Rice, Chilly & etc.,
There is no facility to grow horticulture crops still it has been
covered recently and encouragement is given to grow them some part of the
taluk.

Education in Shahapur:
There are more number of educational
institutions in Shahapur taluk.
Though Shahapur is having more number of
educational facilities in the district.
The rural educational progress is very poor. Reasons for the low progress of the education
in rural are as under.

Shahapur is fallen back in social
economic field more villages are lambani tandas in the taluk. The majority of the people leave for other
place in search of livelihood. They
want from November to March. They take
their children along with them. This
children’s progress of education in rural areas. As long as proper remedies for above points
are not found. The U.E.E. will be a
remedies under E.G.S. and A.I.E. scheme
opening of residential substitute centers for migrating children. It will help them to remain in school and
provide education for live months.
