Date of Formation of State is 1st November, 1956
Total Area is :
38,865 sq.km.
Kerla’s Capital City is Thiruvananthapuram.
Neighboring States : Goa, Karnataka, Mahe, Lakshdweep Ireland.
Population Minimum to Maximum : 3,20,00,000 as per 2006.
Males : 1,55,00,000
Females : 1,65,00,000 Population density : 820, Sex Ratio : 1060.
Literacy : 92.00%, males are 95.00% and females are 88.00%.

Industries : Coir and cashew are 2 large industries. Handloom and bamboo based industries are well developed. Kerala accounts for about 1/3 of Indias marine exports. Software development and export is picking up.
Agricultural Products : The state has developed commercial agriculture more than food crops. Consequently, the state is short of food grains. Kerala accounts for 92% of Indias rubber, 70% of coconut, 60% of tapioca and almost 100% of lemon grass oil. Kerala is the single largest producer of a number of other crops like banana and ginger, besides tea and coffee in abundance.

TRANSPORTS AND COMMUNICATIONS :
Entire State Road Length is 2,19,810 kilo meters, Main Railway line have 1,150 kilo meters length. And the Major Railway Stations are Thiruvananthapura, Kollam, Chenganur, Thiruvalla, Kottayam, Alapuzha, Ernakulam, Trissur, Palakkad, Kozhicode, Kannur, Kasargod.
Airports : Thiruvananthapuram, Nedumbassery, and Karipur, Kochi is the India’s first private airport was opened in 1999.

Kochi city another name is Cochin. The Kochi Major part of Kerala state is known as the Queen of the Arabian Sea. Edakal cave in Wayanand district.

EDUCATION :
The First fully literate municipal town is Kottayam in 1989-90, and district Ernakulam in 1990-91 in India are in Kerala. In 1991, Kerala became the first fully literate state in India. Literacy among adults : 90%. Employment is 80% and un employment is just 20%.
Total Schools are in state 12700, Total Colleges are in state 313and Universities are 10.
